Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is inviting applications for the casual position of Summer Recreation Skateboard Instructor in Parks and Recreation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Summer Recreation Skate Park Instructor leads recreation programs for a variety of age groups. The Instructor designs activities within a planned curriculum and supports persons with disabilities in programs (e.g. personal care, lifting procedures, adapting activities, etc.) – may be required to develop a specific program plan. Other responsibilities include: daily duties such as greeting participants, leading activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants, organizing equipment and supplies, preparing for activities, participating in staff meetings.

Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.
Please note – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge. Candidates, who are selected for testing, may be tested in a group setting, scheduled at the employer’s discretion.

WORK STATUS: Casual/Seasonal – June 20th, 2022 to August 26th, 2022
HOURS OF WORK: Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule.
SALARY: Non Union, $14 per hour(plus 4% vacation pay)
WORK LOCATION: Citadel Community Centre, Captain William Spry, and Dartmouth North Community Center.
