Our pharmacy technicians are important members of the interdisciplinary team, performing a wide variety of responsibilities including completion of best possible medication histories, hazardous and nonhazardous sterile and non-sterile compounding; automations; and drug distribution. Our pharmacy technicians have unique opportunities to grow their skills through teaching and mentoring students, specializing in areas such as oncology, neonatal/pediatrics, and participating in, committees, projects and working groups.

Hamilton Health Sciences Pharmacy Services is embarking on an exciting, transformational journey of redefining patient care as we leverage the most advanced technologies to enhance all aspects of delivering highly reliable, safe and quality care. We are a multi-site department offering a wide range of services within inpatient, ambulatory and retail pharmacy services. We have pharmacy facilities at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, Hamilton General, McMaster University Medical Centre, St. Peter’s, West Lincoln and other sites as required including Alternate Health Facilities. The scope of Pharmacy services also includes three retail pharmacies (Cancer Centre Pharmacy, McMaster Drugstore and General Drugstore). We are a tertiary care center offering a wide range of specialty patient services ranging from neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric and palliative care and are collaborators for clinical trials and research. Our services are offered with recently renovated state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities for sterile and non-sterile compounding.
