A leading organization within the energy sector, with multiple offices across Canada are looking to onboard an Accountant. This is for a 6 month contract role working out of their either the Kelowna or Castlegar BC office.

Your new role

You will be working full-time, Monday-Friday for a 6 month contract. You will be responsible for the following duties

· General cost accounting and budgeting activities

· Handling, and scheduling a variety of financial activities within accordance with applicable policies and procedures

· Coordinates and develops operational unit budgets

· Assembling and analyzing historical cost and activity data necessary to prepare budget projections

· Coordinating and preparing justifications for a variety of budget items such as operating and maintenance items

· Medium and long-range capital expenditure forecasts and future business program

· Prepares and presents regular performance and variance reviews

· Coordinate the preparation of year end forecasts.

· Participates in the development of recommendations to enhance or establish financial policies and procedure

What you need to succeed:

· 3+ years of accounting experience.

· Completion of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, cost benefit analysis and related analytical techniques.

· Strong knowledge of computer and accounting systems operations such as an ERP and MS Office
