Hays Looking for Accounts Payable Clerk at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Your new company:

Hays Specialist Recruitment has a Investment company in Ottawa, ON. Our client is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team on a temporary position. This role is hybrid based.

Your new role:

• assemble, review and verify invoices and cheque requests
• flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
• sort, code and match invoices
• set approved invoices up for payment
• prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• prepare and perform cheque runs
• post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
• reconcile accounts payable transactions
• company payroll processes may also fall under your area of responsibility
• prepare analyses of accounts
• monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and sufficient cash on hand at all times
• research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• maintain vendor files
• correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• bank deposits as required
• produce monthly reports
• assist with month end and year end closings
• provide supporting documentation for audits
• maintain accurate historical records
• maintain confidentiality of organizational information
• Post journal entries
• General administrative support as may be required

Must Haves:

• 1-4 years Accounts Payable experience
• MS Office Suite (Excel)
• Data entry and administration experience
