A privately held manufacturer and distributor of consumer goods with its Canadian Head office located in Woodbridge.
Your new role
The company is currently seeking a Controller to support the VP Finance in the management of the accounting function and will be responsible for the following areas;
- Participate in the implementation of the D365 ERP system
- Overall responsibility for accounting, GL, month end closings, monthly financial reporting and reconciliations
- All GL, AP, AR, bank, inter company and other reconciliations
- Accounting of sales commissions, rebates, royalties etc.
- Full reporting, filing and accounting of HST obligations
- Full bi-weekly payroll accounting including Government remittances, company benefits and company pension plans
- Annual EHT, WSIB account reconciliations
- Weekly bank balance reporting
- Providing all schedules and information for year end audits
- Responding to management queries
- Other duties as assigned by CFO
- Provide day to day leadership to the accounting team(5 staff)
What you’ll need to succeed
You will hold a CPA designation combined with 5 -10+ years of relevant experience in a similar role with experience in handling full cycle accounting and financial closing in a mid size, ideally manufacturing organization. Excellent analytical, accounting, organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required. You will preferably have experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and D365 as well as be an Advanced user of QuickBooks and have strong Excel skills.
