Hays Looking for Financial Reporting Manager at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Role: Manager. Financial Analysis & Reporting – 18 Month Contract – North York (Hybrid Role)

Salary: $130,000 – $142,000 + 4 weeks’ vacation + full benefits + HOOPP pension plan + onsite gym

Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Director of Research Finance, the incumbent will be responsible for general accounting and reporting function, core operating, budgeting, reporting, and annual audits.

Your time will be spent as follows (in order of priority):

• 10% – Lead and coach a team of 6 to 7 finance professionals, promote a collaborative team environment and ensure performance objectives are met
• 20% – Financial reporting, variance analyses, general accounting activities, internal financial controls
• 20% – Budgeting (OpEx & CapEx); cash flow projections; other forecasting/projections as required
• 15% – Oversee the peer-reviewed grant applications and contract review process
• 20% – Operations, compliance, and administration: provide guidance on emerging accounting issues and implement required changes; cash management, including forecasting investment returns; HST returns/rebates and associated inquiries; compliance reporting, forecasting & variance analyses for MOH and CRA; financial metric reports; manage internal relationships with facility managers to manage finances and attract external customers staffing & recruitment
• 10% – Manage the annual external financial statement audit & liaise with the auditors
• 5% – Participate/lead in various process and system improvement initiatives, special projects and ad hoc analyses

Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be a CPA,CA. Will consider a CPA,CMA or new stream CPA
• Minimum 3 years management experience leading financial reporting
• Minimum 2 years staff supervisory experience – developing and leading staff is critical in this role
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong customer-centric approach
• Systems & software: excellent Excel skills; solid Outlook/Word/Access/PowerPoint skills
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, plus excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
