Your new company
Hays has partnered with a very large contractor who has been in business for decades providing building services to the municipal, civil and heavy industrial spaces. They work on projects across Canada and employ many highly skilled trade individuals. They are focused on meeting their clients’ needs and delivering world-class projects on-time and within budget. The current need is for an Operations Manager to work out of their head office location in the Greater Toronto Area.
Your new role
The current role is for an Operations Manager to really oversee all the trade superintendents who are in charge of site operations and construction, and ensuring that all installation and equipment needs are aligned with the project. They will ensure project productivity, minimizing costs and meet all required project deadlines. They will conduct data analysis, gather insights into construction performance metrics and will share practical insights and best practices based on previous experience. Finally, their mindset will be based on growth and promoting that culture within the team on behalf of the organization.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful Operations Manager (Civil) candidate will have at least 10 years in the field focused on large industrial projects, including but not limited to, waste water, energy, government etc. They will have a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and have strong knowledge of equipment, civil systems, and construction processes. They will have experience in management and supervision and be able to coach and develop team members while fostering a growth culture. They will be an excellent communicator dealing with all types of stakeholders, internally and externally, and be committed to customer satisfaction. Experience with construction software like Primavera, Procore and Microsoft are heavy assets.
