Location: Kitchener – Cambridge-Guelph, ON area
Compensation: 140K-165K base; bonus benefits
Work on-site 5 days a week
Our client is a very well-established manufacturer of metal parts and heavy industrial machinery (OEM original Equipment Manufacturer) and fabricator of machinery and equipment and have a job open for a Plant Manager -OEM. Reporting to the President, the role is responsible for overall Plant Efficiencies, development and production of parts sub-assemblies, complete project delivery, installation, commissioning, aftercare, customer experience, costs & P&L of this heavy equipment plant. This is a hands-on, ‘roll-up-the-sleeve’ work culture where you work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Shop floor operators, cutters, welders, CNC and Lathe operators to manufacture best in class custom designed parts for the equipment.
The jobs requires work on site from Guelph-Cambridge- Kitchener, ON area, five days a week.
Plant Manager, Heavy Equipment manufacturing is a hands-on leadership role in CNC, Lathe, Lazer cutting, machining, welding painting custom fabrication heavy equipment plant. You will work with engineering and customers to ensure one of its kind custom solutions to the customer on time and under budget. You will lead shop floor employees and Engineers to ensure manufacturing projects complete as per the engineering drawings. You are responsible for on-time delivery, manage the plant as a Cost Center to ensure profitability. You will lead Materials Management, Inventory, Production Planning, Capacity Optimization, Warehousing and Transportation, lead special projects to improve /reduce costs in manufacturing, fabrication inventory and transportation. You will work closely with Mechanical Engineering, analyze existing processes, define SOPs, KPIs and set up measures in the metal fabrication plant.
Plant Manager, Heavy Equipment/ machinery manufacturing will ideally be in the west GTA / KW area, with minimum 8-10 years of custom metals parts fabrication manufacturing for heavy industrial parts for agriculture, construction equipment etc. Mechanical Engineering degree (MUST) with ideally 4-5 years of Plant Management experience in custom fabrication (MUST); P. Eng preferred, MBA preferred; experience leading Engineers and machine shop employees in heavy equipment machinery building custom fabrication plant, proven experience in managing plant P&L, budgets, Quality, excellent interpersonal skills and English communication, Lean, Continuous Improvement highly preferred
