Position: Senior Accountant

Responsibilities
- Full cycle accounting for multi-branch, multi-jurisdictional operation inclusive of sub-ledger reconciliation and general ledger account reconciliations
- Preparing value-added monthly analysis of operating results to operations and business units and executive management
- Communicating and preparing monthly forecasting
- Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Preparing monthly and quarterly tax remittances- both provincial and federal
- Identifying weaknesses in internal controls and makes recommendations for improvements in processing methods, workflows, procedures, and reporting efficiencies
- Interpreting various accounting data, analyzing reports and recommending actions to be taken
- Preparing and directing the preparation of special statistical reports, details cost accounting information, surveys or analyses
- Working with stakeholders to create the annual budget for assigned business units
- Assist with working papers preparation for year end audit and corporate tax
- Work with other accounting and finance team members to achieve organizational goals
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
- CPA preferred but not required
