The Role of the Ride for Heart, Corporate Challenge Relationship Specialist is to lead the effective delivery of the Heart and Stroke’s Ride for Heart Fundraising initiatives through the coordinated efforts of volunteer resources for the Central Ontario region.
Creates the Corporate Challenge (CC) segment program as part of the overall Ride event by initiating, developing, maintaining and growing all the CC relationships in Ontario, and executing projects that support the recruitment and fundraising for the CC segment of Ride for Heart. Also works closely with the Ride for Heart Program Development team to ensure effective strategy and development of the virtual and in-person (if possible) Ride for Heart Corporate Challenge segment program. Additionally, this position is responsible for supporting other national CC recruitment and stewardship efforts.

Maximize fundraising initiatives through active stewardship and relationship management for the Corporate Challenge Segment
Achieve or exceed fundraising revenue and business objectives through acquisition and stewardship plans with a focus on the top revenue generating teams
Provide superior customer service and develop and grow solid relationships that lead to team completion, retention, and growing team revenue contributions
Maintain excellent relationships with established Corporate Challenge teams and liaise with prospects to maximize all available opportunities for partnerships and revenue growth
Monitor and adjust plans, real time, to influence fundraising and relationship outcomes
Anticipate participant needs and proactively search for solutions to ensure participant expectations are met or exceeded
Develop and manage appropriate plans, critical paths, and budgets for Corporate Challenge segment
Lead and manage Corporate Challenge registration invoice process with teams and internally with Finance
Lead the planning and execution of the annual Corporate Challenge stewardship events
Together with the Program Development team, participate in the annual delivery of a Ride Post-event report through corporate challenge specific post-event analysis
Identify and recommend new relationship opportunities or connections with our mission that could serve the organization while still ensuring continued growth and success of fundraising initiatives for Ride
Create an excellent experience and positive interaction for all who are involved with Heart & Stroke
Program Development
Lead the development and execution of CC segment plans, critical paths and budgets that supports the delivery and vision of the overall Ride for Heart plan, including acquisition plans for new CC Teams
Lead the planning, execution, and implementation of fundraising incentive programs for CC participants
Support Program Development team on annual strategic and tactical planning for CC segment
Provide support to and share learnings with national community relationship specialists’ team as required with new CC constituents
Engagement, Volunteer Relationships and management
Develop and foster key relationships with external shareholders including team captains and top fundraisers on assigned corporate teams
Lead, manage and set priorities for teams to achieve their fundraising initiatives. Lead the relationship with procurement related to Ride Critical path and collateral elements pertaining to the Corporate Challenge
Build and maintain positive volunteer partnerships in support of the effective execution of program, including acting as the lead/supervisor for any co-op placements, short term contracts and/or volunteers specific to the corporate challenge
Participate with the event execution leading up to and including the Event Day
Deliver a variety of presentation and kick off events for Corporate Challenge
Strengthen relationships through actively engaging in and attending meetings, local networking community events, volunteer recognition and stewardship activities
Business Operations
Together with the Senior Community Relationship Manager, identify and develop operational plans and tactics for growing community presence, fundraising and business relationships,
Develop plans, tactics and mission opportunities to further engage major donors in the CC segment, thereby strengthening the relationship and connection with H&S
Track business performance and display ownership over business accountabilities on a regular, on-going basis to ensure the Senior Community Relationship Manager has up-to-date performance metrics. Flag potential risks and/or opportunities
Lead relationship with procurement/operations team to ensure critical support collateral is identified and delivered on-time according to the yearly critical path
What you bring
Work Experience
3-5 years fundraising/sales experience with a proven track record of maintaining and growing successful business relationships;
Experience in sales, relationship management and/or account management. ideally within the not-for profit industry
Proven track record of strong stewardship abilities
Event planning, coordination and/or project management experience would be an asset
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to influence and build relationships
Ability to effectively promote opportunities and partnerships along with excellent public speaking/ presentation skills
Superior organizational skills in planning, attention to detail, time management and completing projects by deadline
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
Proficient with remote technology, online and social platforms
Developing rapport virtually
A professional and exceptional donor centric service approach
Comfortable delivering presentations in an enthusiastic and engaging manner
Sound judgment, ability to think creatively and excellent problem-solving skills
Proven ability to relate to and engage diverse groups of people
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful
High level of ownership, and accountability to goals, teamwork and following best practices
Results driven and metrics focused with a passion for continuous improvement

Strong data analytics, reporting skills
Strong technical abilities, computer skills and experience working with a CRM database and online fundraising platforms would be an assets.
