Who we need
Reporting to Senior Vice President, NS, PEI & NFLD, the Manager, Atlantic Gaming is responsible for leading the planning for gaming and gaming related activities in Atlantic Canada. They will also oversee the implementation and effective delivery of the gaming operations and ensuring this is done in compliance with all gaming regulations and H&S policies.
The manager will provide relevant subject matter expertise in program and operations management, thought leadership and use of industry best practices in the development of new operational processes and in the continuous improvement of existing processes.
This position is fully remote (working from a home office ideally in PEI or NFLD), however the successful candidate must have access to own vehicle and ability to travel to NFLD, PEI and NS as required.
How you will make an impact every day
Business Planning
In consultation with the SVP, Atlantic, lead the development of the Atlantic Gaming strategy and annual business plans
Recommend strategies and implementation plans for growing the gaming business in Atlantic Canada
Work closely with key internal partners to develop support plans for the business and ensure cross functional support for achieving business objectives
Lead operational planning and evaluation for new and existing business
Lead operational risk evaluations and present recommendations
Lead process improvement & operational innovation to effectively build the business
Maintain knowledge of gaming regulations and ensure alignment of business plans
Explore and evaluate gaming policy change opportunities
Maximize revenue through operational excellence
Lead the development of the annual operations plans including critical path and stakeholder alignment
Ensure that all gaming license applications and reporting is completed in accordance with provincial regulations
Develop plans for new avenues of ticket sales including online sales and identification of new retailers
Manage financial outlooks and budgets for gaming initiatives; analyze and resolve variances
Evaluate and measure the results versus targets upon completion of campaign
Vendor, Supplier & Volunteer Management
Lead the management of all vendor, supplier and retail relationships
Ensure that contracts and Statements of Work are in place and up to date for all vendors and they are delivering on contractual obligations
Ensure Supplier relationships are properly established, clearly documented and managed in accordance with Contract and Purchasing Policies
Update and engage senior volunteers/Provincial Advisory Board members as required
Promotional activities that supports and enhances H&S’s community presence
Together with the SVP, Atlantic, develop the marketing strategy and promotional plans for gaming activities
Engage/foster relationships with key community groups/organizations who could assist with growing our media presence
Work with internal Marketing & Communication teams on the development of branding, content and key messaging
Oversee the key communications tools for gaming activities including website, social media channels and newsletter
Human Resource Management
Lead talent development of direct report, ensuring high standards, competence and that staff is well supported in fulfilling their accountabilities, developing their skills and achieving their career potential.
Provide clear direction on business goals and priorities; ensure optimal deployment of resources to achieve business goals.
Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports and comply with performance review cycle
Partner with Human Resources to recruit skilled talent aligned with Foundation practices
Familiarize and comply with all H&S policies while ensuring accurate administration of employee related information: absence records, vacation, title, etc
What you bring
Requirements
Post-secondary education
Minimum 5-8 years fundraising, program execution and/or operations experience with a proven track record of achieving fundraising goals
Previous experience with gaming an asset
Experience leading direct reports
Experience developing and managing vendor relationships
Experience developing or leading fundraising initiatives
Skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to drive strategy, business planning and execution
Superior communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence outcomes, build persuasive arguments and gain support to achieve business goals.
Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to anticipate and plan, problem solve and exercise sound judgment
Flexible and adaptable – able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret reports and manage financial information
PC Knowledge: Microsoft Office, database applications, CRM
