Heidelberg Materials is currently looking for a responsible and dependable Administrative Assistant to join our local team. in Sechelt, BC. This role will help with the processing of payables and support purchasing controls among other administrative duties

What you’ll get to do:

• Work closely with supervisors and managers for purchase requests, the purchase order process, and submitting to vendors

• Receive and code invoices from purchase orders and process accurately for approval

• Vendor management, including setting up of new vendors, escalating payments for critical vendors, and following up with vendors as needed for payment statuses

• Facilitate the completion and submission of vendor qualification paperwork

• Data entry, facilitation of required paperwork, and support of month-end procedures as needed

• Provide administrative coverage for various positions, if required

• Other duties as required

Essential Experience and Skills:

• 3+ years of administrative experience

• Experienced with accounting fundamentals and principles

• Post-secondary education in business administration, finance, or accounting is an asset

• Previous experience in accounting, accounts payable, and/or bookkeeping is an asset

• Proficient with computer systems including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Microsoft 365, and accounting software

• Customer relations experience is preferred

• Ability to prioritize assignments and work on a variety of tasks simultaneously

• Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills

• Must be detailed oriented, organized, and accurate

• Must be self-motivated, fast-paced, able to work independently and multi-task, and thrive in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
