About the Role
We are seeking a Recipe Developer to join the HelloFresh Culinary team and help us build out a new line of recipes. Reporting to the General Manager, the Recipe Developer will be responsible for developing delicious new recipes and innovating on existing recipes that drive excitement across our customer base. This role is required to develop across all diet and meal preference types while maintaining specific cost and nutritional targets. You will be expected to deliver on end-to-end culinary recipe development from ideation through initial editorial steps. The role is cross-functional and will work closely with our Operations, Nutrition, Procurement, and Brand teams to develop the best possible product.
You will:
Develop new recipes on a weekly basis maintaining product fit, cost, and nutritional targets
Bring innovative and trendsetting ideas into new recipe development
Bench-top test all new recipes and evaluate through Culinary Team panel tastings to critique and produce the best product using data-driven insights
Utilize development tools and resources to input and track recipes through the development process
Ensure recipes are tested and fit needs for large scale production
Use consumer data insight as the foundation for all development
Participate in weekly collaboration with Culinary, Menu, Product and Editorial teams
Develop a detailed understanding of the HelloFresh customer, our brand, trends, and competitor styles
Brief photography and write relevant recipe stories, loading content for the website and app
At a minimum, you have/are:
Obsessed with food!
2+ years experience with Recipe Product Development
A Diploma or Certificate in a food-related field e.g. Chef’s training, Specialized Culinary Course, or Technical Culinary School, etc.
Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with various teams to gather key inputs, managing diverse opinions and competing priorities
Flexible and excited to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities
Driven by results and a firm believer in accountability
A task-oriented self-starter who proactively takes on big ideas and projects
Highly organized, ensuring timely execution of weekly tasks with attention to detail
Strongly preferred: certification as a Registered Dietitian in Canada

Hybrid Work Approach
At HelloFresh, we know that flexible work arrangements are essential in enabling you to do your best work, while balancing your personal and life needs. To meet those needs, we are pleased to provide a Hybrid Work Approach, which enables employees to work from home up to 50% of the time, and also work remotely (within Canada) up to four weeks per year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our HQ employees are primarily working remotely from home and we have the office open and available on a voluntary basis for employees who wish to work from there. Pending public health guidelines, we expect to return to the office using our Hybrid Work Approach. Employees will receive a minimum of one month’s notice of our Hybrid Work Approach taking effect and when employees will be expected to start work from the office.
