The HR Manager is directly responsible for the Human Resource function at each plant location. Acts as an internal consultant to senior staff and supervisors in all Human Resource related manners including recruiting, compensation, benefits, employee relations, Union/employee relations, training, safety and environmental.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·Roll out, manage, and maintain corporate Human Resource initiatives and policies.
· Responsible for all employee communications within the plant.
· Manages plant recruiting and staffing process including onboarding.
· Manages HR development including employee performance and training. Acts as an advisor to plant team on organizational development and change management issues.
·Supports senior staff and supervisors with Human Resources related issues.
·Responsible for payroll function to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages with adherence to Collective Bargaining Agreements if applicable.
·Assures legal compliance for all Human Resource related legal issues that arise.
·Oversees benefits administration for facility.
·Assuring consistent application of company policy, procedures, benefits, and labour laws. Attracting and developing exceptional associates.
·Responsible for the maintenance of employees records and files consistent with state and federal regulations.
·Other duties may be assigned
Position Requirements:
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field. Preferred: Master’s degree, Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL)
Experience
Minimum: Knowledge and skills typically acquired through seven-plus years’ experience in a position as Senior Human Resources Generalist. Experience in the Human Resources field in an automotive manufacturing business.

· Broad understanding of an automotive manufacturing processes, practices, and challenges.
· Competent in multi-tasking (i.e., the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, issues or projects that may include high-visibility initiatives and require innovation, teamwork, and planning).
· Proficiency in the following software applications: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) sufficient to apply and/or support the application with minimum instructions or guidance; this level of proficiency is typically attainable through five-years of substantive experience with the applications.
· Provides leadership through example in a unionized environment, consistent with prevailing collective bargaining agreements.
· Promotes an atmosphere conducive to open exchanges of new ideas, and alternatives to orthodox approaches.
· Motivates through ‘leading by the example,’ coaching/mentoring and providing ongoing constructive feedback to subordinate staff; competent in systematically eliciting the best efforts and results from subordinate staff.
· Ability to work in a team and/or matrix structure, supporting multiple clients.
· Ability to conduct effective /efficient meetings and manage the meeting process with optimal results. · Flexibility and ability to work with shifting priorities; embrace new/evolving responsibilities.
· Balance multiple demands from superiors, subordinates and/or peers in a positive and even-handed fashion; displays calm demeanour under pressure.
· Ability to manage effectively and efficiently during times of change.
· Ability to develop, mentor and coach employees at all levels.
