High Tech Genesis Looking for Bookkeeper at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Term: Full-Time, permanent (Flexible Hours)

Bookkeepers and Accounting technicians maintain complete sets of books, keep records of accounts, verify the procedures used for recording financial transactions, and provide personal bookkeeping services. They are employed throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
• Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills
• Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents
• Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
• Completion of a college (or University) program in accounting, bookkeeping or related. OR 2 years of a professional and recognized professional accounting program
• 4+ years of combined experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance or related field
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
• 2+ years of experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, or other accounting software

Desired skills:

• Bilingual, in English and French
• Driver’s license and access to vehicle, or ability to travel to client sites

• Strong attention to detail
• Strong team player
