What will you do:
Budgeting and Related Analysis
1. Work closely with the Senior Manager Business Support on the Budget, Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
2. Develop and publish the timetable for the Budget
3. Remind Managers of due dates for submissions
4. Review budget submissions for accuracy and completeness
5. Update cost/budget model for changes in operations and cost drivers
6. Maintain and update budgeting policies and procedures
Budgeting and Reporting
7. Prepares analyses of financial performance
8. Compare actuals to budget and provide reporting
9. Prepares monthly, quarterly, yearly reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
10. Prepares weekly reports for Corporate Services Management
11. Provides reports and analysis to support annual budget and mid-year forecasting
12. Prepares reports and analysis for partner agencies in Back Office Support program
13. Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports including explanations for significant variances
14. Prepare quarterly financial statements for the Board and Board Finance Committee
15. Supports Case Costing Project’s load and costing processes
16. Prepares budgeting analyses for labour relations collective bargaining
Business Support
17. Meet with key stakeholders in Operations Management upon request
18. Distribute monthly/quarterly financial reports including explanations for significant variances
19. Work with project leads to determine financial impact of planned or possible initiatives
20. Escalate concerns in a timely manner to Senior Manager, Business Support, Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
Statutory Financial Reporting and Audits
21. Ensures compliance with completeness and accuracy controls for all Financial Reporting
22. Ensures integrity of reporting and analyses software with general ledger chart of accounts changes
23. Collaborates with accounting to identify and resolve errors in accounting records
24. Support Senior Manager with external reporting including the MIS Trial Balance Submission
Internal Controls
25. Assists Senior Manager in signs-off on internal controls for Accounting
26. Assists Senior Manager in signs-off on internal controls for Reporting
27. Monitors internal controls. Identifies any deficiencies and helps develop mitigation strategies
28. Assists in the creation of new policies and helps update existing policies as needed
General
29. Support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of HCCSS
30. Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis as required by Finance Management and Vice President
31. Supports and participates in continuous improvement projects
32. Other duties as assigned
What must you have?
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, (35 hours per week; 70 hours per bi-weekly pay period).
Position Location and Travel
A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required. Requirement for travel to all seven (7) branches of the Home and Community Care Support Services Central East region from time to time.
