Job Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Securities Operations, the Analyst, Derivatives Documentation is responsible for timely receipt and execution of legal contracts pertaining to OTC derivative transactions and affirmation of clearable derivative products. The confirmation process is a key control as the confirmation agreement is the legal evidence of a derivatives trade. HOOPP relies on this process to ensure accurate reporting of HOOPP’s derivative position in our financial statements. The Analyst, Derivatives Documentation must keep abreast of upcoming regulatory changes and frequently co-ordinates and liaises with HOOPP’s legal department to ensure HOOPP becomes compliant with the mandated changes. This is particularly complex due to the nature of HOOPP’s investment strategies combined with the rapid growth in derivative activity. This is critical as HOOPP needs to ensure regulatory compliance ahead of deadlines so as not to disrupt trading activity done by Investment Management.
