Hopital Shriners Looking for Assistant-Chief medical technologist (Laboratory) at Montréal, Quebec Full Time

Status: Temporary full-time
Salary: $25.39 to $39.40 per hour, depending on experience

We are currently looking for an Assistant-Chief Medical Technologist to work full-time with our clinical laboratory team in both molecular diagnostic services and clinical laboratory services.

Main Responsibilities
• Coordinate administrative activities that support both the molecular diagnostic services and clinical laboratory services.
• Performs all analysis and work of a technical nature of the type required by the service.
• Works with the Clinical Biomedical Laboratory Manager and the Clinical Biomedical laboratory Director in implementing goals, objectives and philosophy of the service.
• Participates in (and helps prepare) ongoing laboratory in-service education programs.
• In the absence of the Clinical Biomedical Laboratory Manager is responsible for the daily operations, supervising technical and operational functions and ensures efficient and professional performance of the service.

Requirements
• DEC in Medical Laboratory Technology and Bachelor of Science
• Master’s degree is an asset
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a molecular diagnosis laboratory
• Additional laboratory experience in biochemistry, blood bank, histology techniques (preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years managing a team or supervisory experience
• Member of the Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec (OPTMQ) or Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
• Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken
• Experience with applicable guidelines, standards and site audits (eg. Accreditation Canada, ISO, CAP, CLIA, CCMG)
