House of Jewellery is a wholesale jewellery trading company based in Toronto, Canada. Established in 1986, House of Jewellery is now one of Canada’s leading silver, gold, and diamond jewellery wholesalers.
We specialize in selling high quality Sterling Silver and 14K Gold from Europe and Asia. We have recently introduced a large line of component and finding jewellery sets in sterling silver, and 10 & 14K gold.
Our team is seeking a highly motivated Junior Accountant to assist in bookkeeping and administrative duties for House of Jewellery and related companies.
NOTE: ***The candidate will also be required to do bookkeeping for other business owned by the owner that include but are not limited to gas stations/convenience stores along with Laundry Mat.***
Position Description
Our company is looking for an experienced Junior Accountant to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting, finance and Canadian tax requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable carrying out day to day administrative duties. The ideal candidate must have strong working knowledge of Quickbooks Online & QuickBooks Desktop.
Candidates must also know how to run and process payroll, GST/HST, and work extensively with Quickbooks. The candidate will report to the company’s accountant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accounting or related field
· Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
· Min 1 year experience working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and GST/HST reports
· Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks Online and Desktop
· Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes
· Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations

Salary: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
