About Global Functions
HSBC’s Global Functions play a vital role in supporting the bank’s Global Businesses and offer a broad range of career opportunities in areas from Legal, Risk and Finance to Human Resources, Sustainability and Communications. Our operational and functional teams around the world help HSBC’s Global Businesses to operate efficiently and effectively on a day-to-day basis. They also focus on controls and governance to reduce risk and protect the Group’s reputations.
Global Finance plays a vital role in ensuring that HSBC manages costs and deploys capital in the most effective way. The team provides financial insight, accuracy and control, using analytical skills to support our Global Businesses and influence and challenge business decisions.
The role holder supports the Treasury team that provide valued Treasury insights to support, influence and challenge the strategic direction of associated business area(s).
The role holder will:
Support the Treasury team to advise senior management and provide valued insights to steer business decision making
Innovatively apply commercial acumen to Treasury metrics, driving business performance and directing business management to focus on profitable activities
Build and maintain business relationships to support strategic change in the business
Provide quick responses to Treasury ad hoc requests from the Business and external regulatory bodies
Monitor treasury regulatory reports, metrics and limits, with regards to treasury FIM and regulatory policies, at a Functional or Regional level
Support analysis of business area(s), provide Treasury focused recommendations to seize opportunities for growth and mitigate identified risks
Review ALCM/Treasury metrics of consolidated MI to deliver insightful Treasury analysis to the business, build the necessary MI tools and produce reports to be used by management
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 to 7 years proven and progressive financial services experience, with a background in banking, finance, economics and/or statistics/mathematics, or equivalent.
CPA or CFA (or enrolment in a program leading to a) designation would be an asset.
Good understanding of treasury products and concepts.
Strong financial management, accounting, statistical, analytical and organisational skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills and experience working with large data sets; proficiency in the following systems and software packages would be an asset (MS Excel, MS Access, QRM, HUB, Essbase, TREATS, Summit).
Ability to multi-task to ensure compliance with strict deadlines.
