Position Overview
The Human Resources Advisor coordinates the day-to-day human resources functions including the administration of policies, procedures, employee relations, compensation, benefits, staffing and special projects.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to employee queries regarding company policies, practices, programs and processes relating to the employee experience, collaborating with the HR Business Partners.
Triage requests in shared email inboxes and promptly respond to inquiries where appropriate.
Process employee record changes in HRIS and time and attendance system meeting required deadlines.
Assist with managing time and attendance records including historical edits and audit reports.
Coordinate ordering, delivery, and communication of years of service awards.
Assist with administering recognition program incentives and communications.
Update and post HR related content on company intranet.
Prepare reports on employee status changes.
Complete employment verifications and letters of employment.
Assist with employee engagement and social committee initiatives.
Suggest, edit, review and revise policies, procedures and workflows as requested.
Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to Human Resources activities such as staffing, recruitment, concerns, complaints, performance evaluations, compensation, and benefits.
Manage the process for leaves of absences and determine possible accommodation and return to work strategies.
Use HRIS (Workday) to process payroll changes and employees’ change of status.
Ensure proper approval process has taken place for payroll changes.
Track and send timesheets to Payroll department upon deadline.
Assist employees with benefit enrollment, inquiries and administration.
Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition Team to stay up to date on current and future hiring and business needs.
Assist as requested with internal and external recruiting efforts for various roles and divisions including screening, interviewing, and selection.
Submit and follow up off-boarding tickets and track equipment returns.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
University degree or College diploma in Human Resources, Business or related field is preferred.
1-2 years’ experience in administrative or HR related role
Ability to handle sensitive information maintaining strict confidentiality
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and follow up skills.
Possess excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and web-based programs.
Ability to handle time sensitive requests and meet deadlines
Ability to work in office on hybrid basis if and when required
Working Environment
Employees generally work in an office setting
The majority of work is done sitting at a desk or cubicle using a company issued phone and computer with opportunities to move about the office when needed.
