The role:

As the HR Advisor, you will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on performance management, organizational effectiveness and employee relations. Along with the support from the HR Manager, this role will see you partnering and coaching Store Managers on key HR functions and working to foster a positive and enjoyable work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts weekly meetings with key stakeholders, building strong relationships with Store Managers and provide guidance and advice on all people related issues
• Actively contribute to the deployment and continuous improvement of HR programs, policies, and procedures, as well as working conditions
• Supports the attraction, development and retention of talent – partners closely with business leaders to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time and that diversity in the workplace is a high priority
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
• Establish a solid, proactive, and flexible business relationship with managers and employees to properly understand any issues and challenges and support their professional growth
• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
• Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
• Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations
• Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
• Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
• Provide input on workforce planning and succession planning
• Contribute to human resources strategic planning to support business goals and objectives
• Stays on top of new developments in HR internally as well as external strategies and practices

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in a similar or HR Generalist role, with multi group/unit responsibilities with a minimum of 1 year experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Excellent communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders and employees
• Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to provide creative thought leadership, while also listening to and engaging others to provide input in shaping the vision
• Negotiation and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input while remaining objective to reach the right outcome
