What You Will Do
Under the direction of the Manager, Transitions & Engagement, the Student Services Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and oversight of student life programs at the University of Guelph-Humber. The primary focus of the role includes new student transitions programs coordination and student group advising. New student transition programs that the Student Services Coordinator will plan and organize include the institutions First Year Experience (FYE) program and Orientation events. Student group advising includes assisting with goal setting, team building, conflict resolution, and training. The position is integral to the University of Guelph-Humber’s commitment to a balanced student experience and for meeting and maintaining retention goals.

What you bring to the role:
The successful candidate will have a degree in education, student affairs, student development or a related field.
Skills And Experience
- Minimum of two years of work experience in student services and/or student affairs.
- Direct experience working with, advising and training university students is required.
- A demonstrated ability to work with students in a mentoring/advising/motivating capacity will be considered an asset.
- Additional qualifications include: exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, strong judgment and problem solving skills, proven organizational and event planning abilities, demonstrated skill in MS Office software, and the ability to multitask effectively.
