IDEX Material Processing Technologies (MPT)
A subsidiary of IDEX Corporation, has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Finance to join their local leadership team.
IDEX MPT is a manufacturer of material processing equipment, specializing in mixing, compaction, dispersion and fluid processors for pharmaceutical, food and chemical markets. Our optimized technology enables our customers to achieve consistent, repeatable results in critical and precision liquid and powder handling applications.
Reporting to the Group VP Finance, this person will partner with the Site lead and key business leaders within the business Unit as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. They will be designated as a high-potential performer who will provide strategic financial and business leadership to the division.
Initially this person will be designated as a Co-Project Leader for our ERP (JDE) implementation covering all aspects of financial, commercial, and operational processes. As this person invests and develops relationships with the cross functional leadership teams, this person overtime will assume responsibility for the local Finance Team by post implementation go-live providing financial and business oversight, management reporting, financial planning & analysis, business strategy initiatives, capital investments, and special projects.
This position will have full responsibility for the business unit P&L, balance sheet, and working capital. This person will be expected to evaluate current procedures and processes and make recommendations to improve operations and efficiencies in line with GAAP & Corporate Policies.
Key Responsibilities
Key Project Leader and Business Partner across all functions as the ERP implementation lead. Subsequently Directing and overseeing all aspects of the Financial, Controls, Accounting, Audit, and Compliance Accounting functions while providing financial and data-driven guidance to assess areas for improvement and to drive profitability partnering with leaders in organization
Drive 80/20 operational strategy to reduce complexity and increase profitability through commercial and operational partnership
Supports the Site Leadership Team , analyzing Commercial, Operational, and Cost data trends to support development and correction of strategies.
Builds Great Teams, coaching and developing Finance team members and broadening the fundamental understanding of finance / accounting across organization
Leads monthly, quarterly and annual Forecasting and Budgeting Cycles, identifies commercial opportunities & risks and actively supports operational and sourcing planning to achieve results including operational productivity metrics, make/buy analytics, and operational cost and Inventory forecasting tools
Front Line Hands On Leader providing direction and feedback to improve, automate, and streamline current accounting and reporting procedures to maximize the contribution our overall corporate strategic and business goals.
Drives Project Management and Completion such as new system or policy roll-out, the annual SOX audit, Rapid Improvement Exercises (RIE), monthly business reviews and goal deployment.
Controllership Mindset ensuring all activities are executed fully in compliance with US GAAP and Corporate reporting policies.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities :
Has led/participated prior ERP implementation, or has extensive knowledge of ERP/Accounting systems, including process mapping, automated accounting instructions, strong operations acumen, and report writing
Maintains an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, practices, procedures and controls; and demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.
Must have strong technical skills combined with a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of the business.
The ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients, across international regions and cross-functional company teams, is critical to success.
Proactively learn finance reporting and analysis tools, systems and processes.
Demonstrates the ability to persuade others to achieve excellence and to foster an environment of openness and teamwork in a supportive manner that facilitates his/her ability to achieve results.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills, which includes active listening and communication with upper management.
Thorough knowledge of SOX requirements
Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.
Advanced PC/ERP/OneStream experience
Requirements
BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA and / or MBA preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of relevant financial experience. Knowledgeable in US GAAP and current financial reporting trends.
Prior business partnering experience as P&L owner strongly preferred.
A hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong financial and analytical skills.
Detail-oriented and able to work within a matrix management structure.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong business and common sense.
Career-motivated, dedicated, committed leader.
Prior manufacturing experience or exposure to inventory / cost accounting required.
Job shop or project-based manufacturing experience preferred
Experience in a multi-currency environment a plus
