Optical Assistant/ Sales Associate

We are focused on providing excellent care, comprehensive eye exams, and a fun, safe environment for our valued customers and employees.
We have the latest in eyecare diagnostic equipment and eyewear fashion and maintain a large social media presence.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Optical Assistant / Sales Associate who will become an integral part of our motivated and fast-growing team. We provide an opportunity to earn commission on the sale of all eyewear products.
Key Responsibilities:
– Greet patients in an enthusiastic manner and make the client check-in process as seamless as possible
– Assist customers and patients with sale of eyewear and contact lenses, providing recommendations and an outstanding customer experience
– Input patient details, including prescriptions, accurately and efficiently
– Accurately operate the point-of-sale equipment and process credit and debit card transactions
– Create job orders, inputting relevant information and measurements, and send orders to the optical lab
– Completion of orders including contacting customers with a pickup date, and adjusting glasses as needed upon pickup
– Handle daily tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails and social media messages, booking and confirming appointments etc.
– Must be available Saturdays, and some evenings
– Must be eager and willing to learn – all appropriate training will be provided
– Must be patient and kind with customers
– Must be proactive, self-starter and be able to work independently without supervision
– Must be able to speak with knowledge about products, and look up or investigate answers to unfamiliar questions
– Takes pride in the appearance of the store, and fulfils daily cleaning and organization tasks
– Looks for opportunities to improve processes and services
Skills and Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Fluency in Italian is an asset
– 1-3 years working in an optical environment is an asset
– Knowledge of optical products and industry trends
– Social media skills; this includes but not limited to, Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, AdWords, and SEO.
– Open minded and easy to adapt to new environments and people
– Sales experience and skills are an asset; must be able to convert and close a sale with a relentless focus on providing a positive customer experience and satisfaction
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 150 per week
Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
