IFD Technologies is a thriving tech company located in Vancouver, BC. The company specializes in the design, development and manufacture of products that help electric utilities manage their distribution networks. For the past 25 years the company has grown through our flagship product, the IFD Sensor. Recently, we have expanded our product suite by releasing a series of new and exciting mechanical and digital products. To support this growth, we are opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Port Kells that will manage all assembly and distribution for all our products.
The opportunity
As a Manufacturing Manager, you will play a key role in setting up, transitioning and ultimately operating the Port Kells facility. Your focus will be on developing and leading the manufacturing team through the production of various mechanical and digital products. You will be exposed to a variety of business and engineering-related activities including project management, risk thinking, quality assurance and more! Your creativity, initiative, and energy will drive your opportunity.

Qualifications:
· Technical or Business Degree (or equivalent)
· 5+ years of experience of leading cross functional teams
· Demonstrated commitment to learning and professional development
· Highly proficient English communication skills (verbal and written)
· Deep knowledge of an ERP system (Acumatica, SAP, Sage etc.)
· Lean Certification
Job functions:
· Plan and coordinate operations within the facility to ensure ability to meet needs of customers
· Ensure systems are in place to meet requirements and guidelines for health, safety and environmental sustainability across the facility
· Ensure processes for capturing escape points, and isolate and remove concerns for internal / external customers
· Work with purchasing to ensure outsourced components, equipment and services meet specification
· Work with engineering in the development and implementation of new products or processes as well as the investigation of escape points
· Use lean principles to drive continual and continuous improvement activities for products and processes
· Support business strategy development and aid in its execution by ensuring timely reporting
· Foster a customer and quality focused culture dedicated to continuous improvement throughout the Port Kells facility
· Build lasting relationships with customers, suppliers, and the IFD team
· Participate in training to improve skill set, product and process knowledge and other business-related aspects
Expected range: $90,000 – $115,000 per year.
