IGB Automotive Ltd Looking for Controller of North American Operations at Windsor, Ontario, Canada Full Time

The Controller of North American Operations provides leadership and coordination of company financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting management functions. This hands-on role acts as a proactive business partner focused compliant and efficient accounting practices in support of the business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the local Accounting/Finance department. Manage and develop department staff
• Drive the site to meet or exceed all financial metrics. Support day-to-day operations with recommendations and decision making.
• Work closely with leadership team to ensure that all financial transactions and reporting are complete, accurate and timely.
• Lead the site’s annual budgeting process, including the identification of cost drivers. Coordinate with leadership and corporate Finance team to develop operational objectives that are aligned with corporate strategic objectives.
• Establish and implement short- and long-range department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
• Responsible for month-end and period-end closing, management reporting, forecast and budgeting analysis and other reporting to Corporate with local staff.
• Responsible for tracking and analyzing company, cost centre spending including but not limited to purchasing/procurement, and administrative spend.
• Working Capital optimization; inventory (SKU’s, slow movers, forecasting), receivables (past dues, terms in general), Payables (payment terms and PTP optimization)
• Coordinate internal and external audit planning and execution and provide corporate personnel with financial information and supporting schedules as requested.
• Responsible for statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Responsible for security and maintenance of financial planning and analysis systems. Maintains and demonstrates professional competency according to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting (CMA Preferred
• CPA designation
• Minimum 10 years’ experience and 5 years supervisory experience
• Experience working in automotive and Mexican Financial Operations
• Proven management-level skills in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventory valuation, with a strong track record of accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to link and interpret operational metrics to financial performance, communicate/present findings, and make recommendations.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and work independently to meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficient use of accounting systems, as well as MS Office software applications and ERP/MRP proficiency.
