Role Description:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial forecasts with rationale for capital planning purposes.
- Provide accountability for program budget, financial reporting and variance explanations to executive leadership, capital planning boards and the Health Authorities.
- Provide accountability for the delivery of IT infrastructure projects for the program.
- Review and approve the program IT Infrastructure deliverables and artifacts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage PHSA project resources including 2 – 3 technical project managers who are responsible for the delivery of IT infrastructure projects which consist of server / virtualization, storage, data / voice / wireless network, Citrix, Exchange and database technologies.
- Directly manage the delivery of IT infrastructure projects for the program as and if required.
- Provide project technical leadership, working closely with PHSA and the Health Authority teams to monitor and ensure the program accomplishes all goals and deliverables, on time and budget.
- Prepare program charters, plans, schedules and dashboards.
- Develop / distribute regular program status reports and lead / attend regular client program status meetings.
- Prepare change requests for the program as required.
- Act as program’s focal point for Health Authority contacts and champions.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience project managing complex IT infrastructure projects in large, outsourced IT service delivery organizations.
- Excellent program and project management skills.
- Client focused/consultancy style interaction even during tense situations.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects with constantly changing requirements and priorities.
- Capable to lead a program team while respecting a chain of command.
- Strong budget management skills including financial forecasting and reporting.
- Broad knowledge of data centers, virtual servers, data cabling, networking, network architecture, end devices (workstations, printers, medical devices, etc.), workstations, etc.
- Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of technical resources.
- Skilled at identifying hidden/unstated client requirements.
- Training and experience with best practice project management techniques and processes.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
Nice-to-have:
- Previous experience in Healthcare (BCCSS) is not mandatory but nice to have.
- AWS or Azure an asset.
