Job Description
Learning & Development Specialist
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Talent Development, the Learning & Development Specialist will support Learning & Talent initiatives to ensure employees have the necessary skills to meet the organization’s needs. This involves working to develop small and large-scale leadership programs, the on-going maintenance of existing learning programs, digital content development, facilitation, LMS administration, and other talent development initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs end-to-end learning solutions and training content in alignment with learning needs. Prepares learning material including facilitator workbooks, presentations, reference guides and job aids.
Incorporates blended learning and adult learning principles to the appropriate instructional mediums, including self-led programs, instructor-led programs, e-learning and classroom programs.
Conducts needs analysis by consulting organizational leaders & HR, analyzing data and conducting research.
Facilitates learning sessions in person and virtually.
Supports the delivery of L&D initiatives by coordinating and executing program logistics, organizing necessary materials and managing facility support.
Prepares and maintains L&D records, including program evaluations, attendance records and learning schedules.
Works closely with the L&D team on the implementation of a new Learning Management System in 2023.
Provides on-going support, training, and administration of the LMS.
Reviews existing learning solutions for quality assurance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Evaluates the impact and return on investment of L&D initiatives by tracking learning metrics, measuring impact of learning and progress against goals to make recommendations on existing and future initiatives.
Performs cross-functional activities and/or other duties, as required.
Travel within Canada and the US, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in L&D and/or instructional design
Experience facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions required.
Experience in Manufacturing an asset
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Adult Education
Adult education certification completed or in progress
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro)
Experience with Articulate Storyline required
