People & Culture Coordinator

Permanent full-time position

The People and Culture Coordinator is an integral part of the People and Culture department. From the recruitment and selection process to onboarding, training, benefits administration, communication, and general employee relations, the People & Culture coordinator will serve as support to all employees (Vancouver, Montreal, and the USA).

This is a full-time employment opportunity based in our Vancouver office with the possibility of remote work in hybrid mode 2 days per week.

What you’ll be accountable for :

As a member of our team, you will:

Recruitment & employer branding

• Coordinates all aspects of recruitment including job postings, job descriptions, interviews, and job offers, tracking applicants and ensuring onboarding of new employees;
• Promote and manage career opportunities within the academic community (internships, recruitment, networking events, conferences, etc.)
• Responsible for internal posting and communication, i.e. career opportunities, social events, upcoming training, etc;
• Leading employer branding initiatives with the Marketing department.

HR Coordination & Project Support

• Coordinate and administer all employee benefit plans;
• Oversee employee events and appreciation activities such as social events, and group activities, tracking anniversaries, birthdays, and other milestones
• Maintain and update all employee files and important information in systems; BambooHR etc.
• Run reports, as required, from BambooHR;
• Coordinate and assist with the planning and execution of all employee relations events;
• Responsible for creating hiring documents, welcoming and integrating new employees;
• Ensures the revision and updating of the employee handbook;
• Work closely with the HR and Finance departments to develop new policies;
• Work closely with the People & Culture team on different projects and strategies to support growth and continuous improvements;
• Support the People & Culture Manager on HR compliances and legal documents;
• Help, as needed, the Finance department with payroll operations;
• Help, as needed, with office management tasks for the Vancouver offices;

About you

The desired candidate generally holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources combined with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in the field of technology and/or engineering is a strong asset. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience could also be considered.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Minimum 2 years experience in talent acquisition or human resources
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely autonomous work environment
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and to evolve in a fast-paced environment
• Empathy and listening skills
• Able to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion.
• Strong time management skills and accountability.
• Positive attitude and comfort working in a highly agile environment
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors while maintaining the confidentiality of information in the department including conversations, and personal information;

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in recruitment in the biotechnology sector;
• Basic project management skills;
• Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR..)
• Proficiency in the French language, both written and verbal;
• CPHR/CRHA
