Impulse Downhole Tools Looking for Accounting Assistant at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Full Time

We are looking to fill an Accounting Assistant position. This is a new permanent full-time role in our organization. Ideally, we are looking for a new or recent graduate from an accounting diploma program who is looking for experience but has the education for potential advancement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently accepting resumes from organized and team-oriented individuals who are looking for a career as an Accounting Assistant. This role is Hybrid with a flexible mix of in office & work from home. The candidate will be expected to reside in the Edmonton area & attend the office as needed.  As part of the accounting team, you will be responsible for providing accounting, clerical, and administrative support.

As the Accounting Assistant, you will ensure that all assigned accounting functions are completed in a timely manner while assisting with other administrative roles when necessary. The Accounting Assistant will be required to:

• Assist Accounts Payable
• Receive and organize Vendor e-mails for 5 companies
• Send invoices electronically for approval, track and upload approved invoices into Accounting Systems
• Send out Remittance Advice to Suppliers
• Reconcile deposits and apply to customer accounts
• Track MasterCard Receipts, coding, sending for approval and inputting
• Review Bi-Weekly Timecards and summarizing for Payroll processing
• Converting Field Tickets to Invoices and submitting to Customer Platform
• Prepare Expense forms for employee reimbursement to ensure accurate expense coding and GST Input tax credits.
• Prepare GST returns for 4 companies.
• Entering invoice data into our manufacturing software
• Other Accounting and Administrative tasks as required

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of a Business Administration Diploma
• A major in accounting will be seen as an asset.
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree not required but will be seen as an asset.
• Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with the drive to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient at working from home under limited supervision.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Knowledge and experience with MS Word and Excel.
• 1-2 years experience will be seen as an asset.
• Experience with ERP implementation will be seen as an asset.
