Information Services Corporation (ISC) is hiring two (2) Product Managers, on a full-time, permanent basis.

What you’ll do:
The Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of product line development (new enhancements, growth, revenue and cost management targets, business policy development, market opportunity assessment, customer requirements, alignment with corporate strategy and corporate capabilities). Additionally, they are responsible for all aspects of product management for all products within the portfolios (revenue, profit margins, customer satisfaction, operational support, policy compliance) and covering all aspects of product, price, promotion and distribution. They will manage and lead projects independently which directly impact the product with their specified portfolio. Work is primarily autonomous and requires gaining support and commitment from impacted business units to successfully manage the product portfolio(s).
Major activities include:
Product Portfolio Development
Evaluates opportunities for new services
Completes analysis by acquiring external and internal information from specialists
Develops and assists in gaining support for policy-impacting strategies and initiatives involving government regulatory organizations and other agencies.
Determines appropriate business models (new pricing models, develops and negotiates service agreements with service providers, develops customer agreements).
Identifies, evaluates and oversees the implementation of new portfolio products and services.
Evaluates and assures alignment with corporate goals and objectives
Accountable for all aspects of product launches.
Product Portfolio Management
Develops and implements comprehensive product plans.
Participates in research and development of recommendation for amendments to policies, procedures and programs, regulations and legislation.
Identifies and integrates emerging customer needs
Participates in communication and maintaining a strong relationship with OPRA.
Responsible to ensure that product services meet critical non-negotiable service delivery expectations
Responsible to manage the financial performance of an individual product (forecasting and realizing revenue targets, understanding cost and margins, managing controllable variables – direct costs, sales, fees, business models, and service levels).
Ensures efficient and responsive operational problem solving related to all aspects of delivery of the product including establishing, enhancing and communicating processes, product support, ensuring compliance with business policies and making recommendations where no policy exists.
Defines key messages, product positioning and communication goals for sales force and customer communications.
Creates and/or approves all product-related communication and support material (e.g. Web content, marketing collateral, etc).
Establishes and monitors compliance with corporate and product line pricing strategies.
Ensures corporation is properly protected with customer agreements
Position Requirements:
The Product Manager requires an understanding of business and product management typically gained from a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, and 4 to 6 years related experience in product strategy, marketing or business development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with application builds would be considered an asset.
Product Management Knowledge
Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Ensures requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
Experience with backend services, and APIs
Drives technical solutions for large features/technically complex features independently.
Creates data flows and functional and technical specifications as needed
Helps resolve technical issues and coordinates solutions across multiple business and technical teams
Drives optimization and process improvements between product, design, and development teams
Stays abreast of new technology capabilities and leverages knowledge in contributing to product solutions.
In-depth knowledge of current product management theory, trends and emerging practices and ability to adapt and apply this knowledge to recommend new methods and work practices to situations that involve problem definition and solutions.
Strategic, conceptual, process and opportunity level thinking to be able to articulate/validate market problems and opportunities and to implement process, price and/or policy improvements.
Understanding of the competitive landscape for the Product, including best practices, jurisdictional intelligence, pricing, trends, etc.
Serve as lead Marketer by leveraging a keen understanding of customer behavior, the marketing mix and marketing research techniques to conduct individual activities as well as assess the work of other individuals.
Leverage knowledge of finance and accounting principles to assess financial viability of products and services using market forecasting, financial modeling, product line costing, and budget analysis to evaluate proposed courses of actions and for the purpose of making sound strategic recommendations.
Make sound decisions regarding change management issues with ISC customers and ISC staff when altering existing processes to ensure achievement of business objectives.
Organizational Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to get results within corporate processes including opportunity assessment (e.g. business case development), project management, product launch, release management, as well as, financial, and operational processes to achieve results.
Knowledge of and ability to improve internal workflow processes of specific product portfolio(s) and how they integrate with the larger Corporation.
Able to quickly develop an understanding of ISC product lines, corporate goals and objectives, as well as product line customers, markets and stakeholders.
Awareness of relevant policy and regulatory environment.
Ability to work with corporate content management system.
Understanding of enterprise architecture and system inter dependencies.
