Job Overview:
The Technical Solutions Consultant is responsible for developing and implementing technical business solutions. They can work independently with a client on an implementation. They are as comfortable discussing requirements with a customer as they are implementing the solution.
Roles and Responsibilities (In order of Importance):
· Developing solutions in a highly demanding environment
· Understanding the overall architecture and design of a solution
· Interacting with clients effectively
· Breaking down stories (larger tasks) into a series of smaller tasks
· Implementing ETL processes and architectural improvements
· Carrying out project work as specified by the design and requirements
· Able to translate customer and business requirements into data flows and processes
· Applying technical skills to solve a wide range of problems
· Working effectively in a small agile team
· Working directly with clients and other stakeholders to implement the solution.
· Translating business requirements into viable technical solutions
· Creating and maintaining document repository of mappings and processes
· Providing mentorship to other team members
Education, Training & Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related program and/or relevant experience
· A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an ETL developer, architect, or database developer
· Previous experience working in a consulting role
· Knowledge of ETL best practices
· Experience with general scripting languages
· Experience with a wide variety of ETL tools and procedures
· Experience with various data pipeline design patterns
Skills & Technologies:
· Strong technical and analytical ability
· Proficient with Boomi, Alteryx, SSIS and/or other ETL Tools
· Strong SQL skills
· Proficient with Python, Powershell, and other scripting languages
· Experience with PowerBI / Tableau would be asset
· Experience with Spark / AWS Glue would be asset
· Able to analyze large data sets
· Good problem-solving skills
· Good organizational and planning skills
· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with clients both written and spoken
· Keeps technical skills up to date; following the strategic plan
