Efty Dishes Restaurant is looking for an experienced and reliable cook specializing in preparing African (specifically Nigerian) dishes for its busy restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The duties of this position are as follows: prepare and cook complete Nigerian meals and dishes such as Amala, Pounded Yam, Efo Riro, Dodo, Suya, etc.; assist in scheduling and supervising kitchen help; oversee kitchen operations; maintain inventory and records of food and supplies; clean kitchen and work area; assist in planning menus, determining size of food portions, estimating food requirements; and assist in hiring and training kitchen staff.
The successful applicant will have at least 3 years’ professional experience preparing Nigerian cuisine.
Salary: TBA – dependent on experience
Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)
Minimum educational requirements: High School diploma
