Your role:
We are looking for a manager of product management to work with our internal IT teams and our outsourced partners to provide the product direction and planning and oversees the execution of projects. This is a new role where the manager will lead a team of 4 existing employees and help build a successful team based on our ambitions.
This role reports to the Director, Digital Distribution – Technology Solutions
Here are a few ways you will make a difference:
Define and drive platform product strategy, roadmap, platform requirements, and design our broker technology products
Gain alignment across the product portfolio on vision and strategy applications to ensure we maximize our assets to achieve customer-value for our core and extended solutions
Collaborate with application and architecture teams to plan for technical needs via a formal technical roadmap, including scale, security and performance demands and enable execution through change management processes
Align roadmaps to strategic priorities and cross-platform dependencies to support the product and engineering teams that build or integrate applications
Clearly convey product strategy and bring a well-researched and synthesized voice of the customer into design and development sessions
Consistently communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gain agreement on product direction and future deliverables
Develop a strong understanding of our customers’ experience
Identify, analyze, and quantify the value proposition for new opportunities
Drive product activation to ensure new products or features/releases are ready for on-time, in scope delivery including launch, training, support, marketing, messaging, sales, and other related departments.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in management or equivalent experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in Software Engineering with 2 years in product and team management or equivalent
Ability to communicate with customers, employees, partners and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
Motivated team player able to lead and inspire teams
Ability to give meaning and coherence to decisions
Ability to drive change and transformation
Excellent ability to manage priorities and resource capacity
Coaching skills and managerial courage
Demonstrate resilience, integrity, rigour, ability to handle confidential matters in a professional manner and demonstrate an appropriate level of judgement and maturity
You will be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, to interact directly with leaders across departments, as well as provide leadership to the team and with partners.
Bilingualism is essential
Working knowledge of Agile methodology is an asset
