About the role
We’re looking for a Property Claims Hybrid Adjuster to join our growing team in this exciting opportunity!
As a Property Claims Hybrid Adjuster you will have the unique opportunity to work as both an Inside and a Field Property Claims Adjuster. This is an exciting new opportunity that provides versatility in your day and allows you to gain experience in both roles in our Property Claims department. Your work will have a big impact on helping customers get back on their feet. We strive to deliver uncompromised customer service on any given day, even when disasters strike an entire community. People will count on you to handle regularly occurring property damage claims or responding to catastrophic events anywhere in Canada. Our hybrid adjusters are equipped with the required knowledge and tools to inspect and assess a wide variety of property claims scenarios.
This position will require applicants to also be on the queue schedule when not conducting field work.
Here are a few ways you’ll make a difference:
Attend property damage claims, investigate losses, assess coverage, and write estimates
Respond to claims across Canada during high volume events, if required
Manage interactions with internal and external customers with utmost professionalism
Provide clear and concise information to our customers of their settlement options and help them make a decision on how to repair their damages by providing them with options
Organize and monitor the process to restore our customers residential, commercial and farming property to completion
Authorize and issue payments within policy limits
Follow up on concerns with possible workmanship issues and determine the course of action to remediate the situation
Provide clear and concise information to vendors
Document the claim file by collecting information from appraisers, engineers or other pertinent experts to determine coverage
Be a strong team player, working collaboratively with the property team and providing mentoring and coaching to others
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Property claims experience is required
Level 2 property adjuster experience and above is an asset
Claims and/or Construction knowledge and experience is a strong asset
Exterior estimating knowledge is an asset
Experience using estimating software is an asset (Xactimate, XactAnalysis)
Ability to adapt and shift focus on any given task at any given time is required
Ability to take on large volumes of work and be agile under pressure
Comfortable and proficient with computers, tablets and emerging technology.
Strong customer service skills, able to work with a wide variety of people and effectively communicate complex and detailed information in a simple way
Exceptional negotiation and conflict management skills
Ability to be extremely organized in a fast-paced work environment
Able to complete physical task including roof climbing on a regular basis
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Last minute travel required for this role.
Ability to work extended hours during high volume season
CIP designation preferred
Ability to learn and work effectively in a remote environment

Flexible Work Arrangements
Right now, we support 100% remote work, if your role permits. Once it’s safe to do so, we will move to a hybrid approach which will give everyone the best of both worlds – a mix of home and in-office workdays. Schedules will be determined in partnership between individuals, managers, and the team.
