Summary
Our company is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative individual to fill the position of Benefits and Human Resources Advisor.
This newly created role will support the company’s philosophy and objectives to attract and retain key talents while fostering a work environment in which diversity and inclusion are embraced. This role follows a 4 day remote work model. The role also requires excellent ability to juggle with multiple stakeholders and requests while showing a high level of professionalism in order to maintain relations respecting corporate values and integrity.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Canada, the incumbent will have a dual accountability for coordinating both Benefits in Canada and providing some HR services.
Key responsibilities:
Benefits (Products and programs include—but not limited to—retirement plans, group insurance benefits for active employees and retirees, wellness, EAP, Disability Management Program, and other employee benefit programs).
· Prepare and coordinate various communications and documentation to enhance employee understanding of our programs, including but not limited to the various phases of product launches or updates, design and maintenance of online information.
· Provide expertise and make recommendations to implement changes to the various programs, including the preparation, analysis and delivery of reports and cost projections, as well as the annual renewal of the benefits program.
· Lead internal audit activities associated with programs, policies and procedures.
· Set metrics and reports, including dashboards.
· Be the main contact and guide your peers within the HR team in the interpretation and application of our programs.
· Be the main contact and coordinate vendor contracts and relationships with various consultants, third party administrators and service providers, to ensure optimum efficiency and quality of service delivery, and to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
· Coach and guide on disability management and accommodations, and provide or coordinate training or information sessions on benefits, retirement, leaves and other related programs.
HR Responsibilities
Coach, guide and provide or coordinate training or information sessions on issues such as harassment and violence, discrimination prevention.
· Organize, streamline, and oversee the hiring and onboarding process, including but not limited to developing and maintaining onboarding guides and new hire checklist, as well as assisting the HR team with cultivating the overflow of the talent pipeline in general.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or a related discipline.
· 5 to 7 years of experience in Retirement Pension and Benefits roles.
· Experience in a complex multi-company environment, as well as working in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with traditional benefits plan; flex benefit, a plus.
· Experience with defined contributions retirement savings plans.
· Strong attention to details and time management skills to meet critical deadlines.
· Ability to communicate effectively with different organizational levels and have the know-how to decode the political environment within the workplace.
· Ability to build, foster and maintain constructive professional relationships.
· Ability to lead meetings and conduct presentations.
· Ability to work under limited supervision.
· Ability to exercise good judgment and initiative to maximize results.
· Strong capabilities in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Familiar with HRIS systems such as Dayforce; ability to navigate information lookup and contribute to reporting design.
· Must be bilingual (French & English).
· Must have a car and be willing and available to travel.
