Location: Chinook Care Centre’s Complex Dementia Care Unit

Positions Available: Part-time Permanent (0.70 FTE)

Hours: 0900-1700, some weekends required

Salary: $18.52/hour and $23.96/hour depending on experience

Role Responsibilities:

• Assists in scheduling, preparing and implementing therapeutic programs which support Intercare’s philosophy of meeting the holistic needs of the customers, as directed
• Maintain appropriate records of planned programs and attendance
• Documents care, programs and interactions as required on the resident’s health care record
• Participate in outings and other special events
• Demonstrate respect to all customers, by working with them in a calm, courteous manner

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

• Candidates must have a certificate from a recognized Therapeutic Assistant Program.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a Continuing Care setting is required.
• Preference is given to applicants with work experience related to cognitively impaired persons.
• Preference is given to applicants with training in programs related to rehabilitation, recreation, or nursing for healthcare workers.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
• Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined
