Business Development Manager – Training/Advisory Services

What you’ll do:
The Business Development Manager – Training/Advisory Services will be responsible for leading the development and management of innovative and sustainable external relationships that achieve corporate, financial and service objectives. The Business Development Manager – Training/Advisory Services will apply expert analytical judgment to assess potential business opportunities and relationships consistent with Intertek priorities.
Sales of training/consultancy services for management systems across US & CAN according to defined sales targets. This includes the development and implementation of a variety of management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100, ISO 50001, IATF 16949, SQF, BRCGS, to name a few) as well as key topics of interest by quality professionals, including FSVP, Corrective Actions, etc.
Consistently meet and exceed sales targets set out by Intertek.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s service offerings.
Keeps up with latest industry knowledge.
Presenting Intertek solutions and services to clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, video or web meetings, telephone calls and emails.
Responsible for own lead generation and appointment setting as well as working with internal staff to generate vertical business opportunities.
Managing and maintaining a pipeline and ensuring all sales information is current using CRM software.
Responsible for the creation of and accountability for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation.
The BDM – Training/Advisory Services will be expected to spend 60% of the time in front of clients or traveling in support of spending time in front of clients. Travel will be a major factor. (when travel returns post pandemic)

What it takes to be successful in this role:
University or college education in technical field, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years professional solution style sales experience, or equivalent client facing role crafting and delivering proposed business performance improvement solution.
Experience selling to or customer facing management of clients in all sectors
Proven success driving profitable growth and demonstrated knowledge of the inquiry to order process.
Demonstrated customer focus and strong relationship building skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency – Microsoft Office suite, email, internet research, CRM experience a plus.
Knowledge of training sales, ISO standards or Audit/Certification sales, strongly preferred
A valid driver’s license.
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills;
Motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit;
Team oriented; and
Ability to multi-task.
