Where does the Tooling Project Engineer fit in?
As the Tooling Project Engineer, you will be expected to liaise with customers/vendors and support various project coordination issues. Completion of requisitions for capital, tooling, and any other required materials for assigned projects. Works closely with Toolshop and suppliers to meet project goals and deadlines, following up on all aspects of a given project from start to finish. Monitoring objectives and ensuring that timelines are met, and roadblocks are eliminated.
What you can expect as our next Tooling Project Engineer :
Provide DFM as required
Provide Time and cost estimations as assigned
Data management
EPR management (Work order, Tracking, Costing, etc.)
Coordinate the kick-off and design review meetings
Assign the Resources and coordinate outsourcing as
Perform the Mold design work as required
Perform the BOM reviews and verification and ordering as required
Supplier management
Design reviews with the Design contractors
Review and apply customer standards to the assigned Projects
Create and maintain the project timelines by MS projects
Scheduling and planning the internal and external resources,
Monitoring the progress of the project and report on a daily and weekly basis
Perform the customer management and point of contact as required
Manage the Engineering changes for assigned projects
Coordinate the invoices
Provide support to Customers as requested for EC and Repair and services (before and after SOP)
Are you our next Tooling Project Engineer?
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in program/project management (within the automotive industry)
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Injection mold design.
Impeccable oral and written communication & presentation skills, with the ability to interface with senior management
Team player with strong relationship building skills (internal & external stakeholders)
A customer advocate- able to effectively communicate client needs to the organization
Proactive view to identifying & driving financial benefits for our clients
Proven successful launches of previous programs (on time & budget)
Ability to think & execute strategically and is results-oriented
Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail
Proficient with MS Project
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task as required
