We’re currently looking for a Technical Director with a focus in VFX, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing (Back-End) to join our Animation Studio!

The Technical Director (Back-End) is a high level problem solver, identifying and eliminating impediments to production. They provide critical support to productions artists and department heads. A Technical Director (with Pipeline support) will develop and implement new tools and processes for a particular show or department (VFX, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing), and ensure that assets coming from Texturing and Animation meet standards.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with operators, Dept. Leads, CG Supervisors, to gather and understand the production and/or asset needs.
• Troubleshoot problematic assets or shots.

• Suggest and develop tools and procedures to ensure production stability.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the production’s pipeline process.
• Keep up on current technology, trends and tools.

Qualifications:

• Experience with Python and Mel.
• Thorough understanding of the entire production process and production pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Maya, NUKE, Redshift.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
