We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Strategic Procurement specialist.
This role is based in our Oakville office, and reports to the Category Manager.

Job purpose:
Evaluate the transportation network to find efficiencies that drive cost savings and/or operational excellence. Aside from deep critical analysis of large varying data sets, regularly interact with both internal and external stakeholders to negotiate agreements and address the qualitative requirements of sourcing activities.
Key responsibilities:
Provide RFP/RFQ and Implementation support
Work on process optimization initiatives
Administer new carrier vetting
Manage monthly spend/savings reporting
Continuously reduce non-core freight vendors through identification of infractions and root cause analysis on usage
Address new logistics requirements as they arise
Implement routing changes throughout the organization with support from operational groups
Carrier score carding
Ensure systems are updated in a timely fashion (rate tariffs, accessorial schedules, certificates of insurance, operating authorities, etc.)
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field
Working towards or completed CITT, PLog, or SCMP designation is an asset
3-5 years of experience in a similar function
Multimode transport experience is considered an asset
LTL, TL, Flatbed, Bulk (Dry, Liquid, Rail), Intermodal, Parcel
Experience supporting multiple shipping locations across North America for customer orders, replenishment, stock transfers, and consignment shipping.
Experience in SAP and TMS are preferred
