Ironclad Developments currently seeking a dedicated Carpenter to join our team who will contribute to overall success of the Construction Site by providing quality work. This position will be held on our Construction Site in Ottawa, Ontario. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Ottawa area. What WE offer: • Incredible compensation package • Generous signing bonus • Full-time steady employment with availability for overtime What you will do: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications • Take measurements and calculate the sizes and amounts of materials needed for the project • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber according to measurements • Build window frames, doors, staircases, brattices, frame buildings, and other structures by using raw materials or pre-constructed items • Inspect products and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed • Comply with all company and governmental safety guidelines • Estimate time, material, equipment, and supplies needed for the project • Operation of hand/power tools, and other equipment relevant to Carpentry • Capable of performing errands as assigned, carry/deliver materials • Ensure proper use and care are given to tools and equipment You Will Bring: • 3+ years of experience in a similar role; preferably in multi-family wood frame • Red Seal Journeyman and 4th year apprenticeship preferred • Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction • Experience in rough in, finish carpentry, and current building codes • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work unsupervised • Ability to work effectively in climatic conditions, good manual dexterity, physical strength, and stamina • Proficient in using electrical and hand tools as well as measurement tools • Superior understanding of safety policies and safe work practices • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy • Strong work ethic and a positive team player • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Ironclad is an equal opportunity employer; we are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace for all.
