Reporting to the Research Informatics/Statistics Manager, Research and Capacity Building, the Programmer/Analyst supports, develops, maintains and manages complex new and existing clinical and business application systems and databases within the Research and Capacity Building Department which impact several functional areas throughout the Vancouver Island Health Authority. The Programmer/Analyst designs, programs, tests, and maintains applications and supports users on those applications. He/she implements and manages – including but not restricted to, data and user accounts management in network and web based clinical and business applications and databases. The Programmer/Analyst works together with other Research and Capacity Building staff, as well as Island Health client personnel and researchers outside of Island Health on collaborative research to ensure that applications are built and running according to user requirements and organizational standards. The Programmer/Analyst assists with project planning, design reviews, system testing, and deliverables for clients.
Education: A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science.
Knowledge of REDCap software and use is a plus. Experience in a Health Care environment is a plus. Knowledge of PHP language is a plus.
Experience – Minimum three years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
