Installation Technician – System Lifecycle Services

Responsibilities:

Installation (including but not limited to the installation of the personal computers at each employees desk, loading of software and drivers specific to that employees requirements and the removal, drive wipe and boxing up of the existing personal computer and transportation back to the Information Technology Services staging area) of new personal computers and peripherals.

Personal computer installations shall include but not be limited to:

• Unpacking the computers, and forwarding all packing slips to the IT Manager
• Configuring the computers
• Setting up IP addresses
• Transferring data from the computer being replaced
• Loading stand-alone software required for that specific users PC
• Loading peripheral drivers
• Transferring peripheral equipment and testing completed configuration
• Old computers would be placed in the boxes of the new PCs and transported to the staging area for wiping and transfer to storage. In the event old equipment will not fit in the new packaging, they will be stacked safely to be loaded by the shipping company.
• Complete pre-printed inventory form indicating the name of the individual receiving the workstation. Record the serial number of the PC being installed at that location on this list.
• Place an inventory sticker on the PC and record this number on the inventory form mentioned above.
• Once the installations are complete, the Technician is required to clear all hard drives on all PCs and notebooks being replaced in order to prepare them for return to the leasing company as per the lease terms.

Must be experienced and proficient at computer installation

Must have minimum 2 years of experience, in similar role

Technicians are responsible for their own transportation
