Job Purpose
The primary function of the Service Dispatch is to:
· review daily workload, taking into account any carry-over from previous days to be completed;
· prioritize work to be processed;
· identify ROs that require special handling such as rush, customer waiting, special problems and comeback;
· assign work to technicians, taking into account technicians’ skillsets;
· reassigns work as necessary;
· verify ‘promise time’ to ensure customer expectations are met:
o re-assign work to Quick Lane as required
o accept work from Quick Lane for dispatch to main shop when situations are reversed;
· maintain internal client relationships with a focus on customer expectations (i.e.; body shop and/or sales delivery deadlines)
· keep service manager informed of all problems and potential problems involving repairs, customers and equipment;
· record changes on repair orders in the approved fashion and update Dealer Management System;
· ensure all documentation/paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
The secondary function of the Service Dispatch is to:
· support, coach and mentor service advisors in the areas of customer service, work carry-overs, etc.;
· participate in Service Advisor and Technician meetings;
· builds productive working relationships and consult with others where necessary;
· exhibit an approachable style and foster open communication through active listening;
· promote cooperation and teamwork through actions;
· keeps up-to-date on all health and safety related training;
· be knowledgeable about new features, specials and updates;
· be up-to-date on technical and performance information for all vehicles serviced;
· attend all certification and training courses required by management.

Education & Experience
· Minimum Grade 12 High School Diploma.
· A fundamental understanding of automotive mechanical functions.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
· PBS computer system an asset
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
