As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of our client’s company, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, including financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Manage the annual audit and tax filings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
• Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal tax laws.
• Hire, train, and manage accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA designation a plus, MBA a plus
• At least 7 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field required
• Experience in a senior financial management position, preferably in the cannabis or agriculture industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
