If you are a CPA and would like to join us on this journey, we are seeking a Financial Controller with strong leadership skills, a great attitude, and creative problem-solving capabilities. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled, experienced, and motivated finance professional to join our team at the start of an explosive growth period. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the location is flexible (remote, at the Head Quarters in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, or a combination of both).

This is a hands-on role responsible for building, leading, and shaping the finance and accounting department. The position requires the individual to work closely with other departments including production, planning, logistics, supply chain and engineering.

Position Responsibilities:

Help shape and build the Finance and Accounting Department
Partner closely with, and directly support, the CFO to ensure current and future business objectives are established and met
Direct, assist, and mentor finance department personnel
Collaborate with other departments in matters of Treasury, Risk Management, Taxation, Budgeting, and Capital Planning
Lead preparation of financial statements and supporting information
Lead gross profit analysis, and be a key resource for productivity and profit improvement activities
Lead and manage budgeting, including variance analysis
Manage cashflow and cashflow reporting
Spearhead finance and accounting process improvement, utilizing technology and automation, specifically exploiting ERP capabilities to the largest extent possible
Coordinate internal audits to monitor performance and process improvements; support external audits as required

Minimum Requirements:

CPA certification
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent combination of experience/degree)
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting in a medium/large sized organization; IFRS experience is preferred
3+ years in a management role
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
High proficiency working with ERP and analytical tools; Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is an asset
Advanced to expert Excel skills, including PivotTables
Experience in solar, or other industrial products is an asset
Highly organized and detail oriented
Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities
Ability to set priorities in a changing environment
