What you will do
As a User Experience Designer, you are responsible for executing design work consistent with brand guidelines, design standards, and customer feedback. In this position you will need to have the desire for solving tough problems in a highly collaborative environment. In addition, you will advocate for user needs while effectively negotiating trade-offs with Product Management.
How you will do it
Collaborate with other designers, researchers, and business partners to identify customer needs and design customer-focused solutions.
Create workflows, wireframes, concepts, models, prototypes, sketches, etc. to explore ideas and detail final designs for Engineering.
Take direction and collaborate with the senior teammates and leadership.
Adhere and contribute to design standards and design systems.
Participate in user research activities and incorporate insights into UX deliverables.
What we look for
Required
A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) is required (advanced degree a plus)
3+ years of experience in user experience design, industrial design, user research, or related fields.
Able to translate ideas and requirements into visuals, concepts, and prototypes.
Knowledge of industry standard wireframing, graphic design, and/or prototyping software.
Able to adapt and iterate designs when new customer insights, scope changes, and technical limitations arise.
Able to apply design to several form factors, including web, mobile, tablets, services, and physical products.
Design thinking skills and an eye for innovation.
Excellent problem solving and design skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Passion for good design and a motivated learner.
Ability to balance user needs with business requirements.
Preferred
Understanding of the building controls and HVAC industry.
