We are currently seeking an energetic self-starter to join our team as a full-time Financial Coordinator.
About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), this is a unique opportunity for the ideal candidate to utilize their education and experience to provide accounting support to the process of sourcing, qualifying, investing and managing a large and varied number of investments in real estate, limited partnerships and equities. In addition, the incumbent will provide administrative support to the CIO.
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and administering the financial records, systems and processes of the Society, including accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and benefits, record keeping, banking, insurance and all related financial and office administration. Addressing day-to-day issues arising within the portfolio.

Your responsibilities:
· Manage the company’s paper and electronic data records, ensuring their completeness and integrity.
· Record detailed transactions for individual investments under assigned portfolio.
· Collect, allocate and post transactions. Post general ledger entries using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance.
· Prepare internal financial statements, investigating any discrepancies and prepare various other financial reports.
· Record detailed foreign exchange transactions and contracts, verifying the accuracy and completeness of information.
· Provides administrative support to the CIO including maintaining appointment schedule, preparing correspondence and respond to phone and email enquiries, etc.
· Work safely, following legislation and established safe work procedures and practices.
· Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications:
· Post Secondary degree or diploma in an accounting related program.
· Minimum three years relevant work experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software (such as Simply Accounting or AS400).
